Shaun Church is well-versed in the lacrosse community with nearly a decade of coaching in the youth lacrosse community as well as college.
Shaun Church is currently the Head Mens Lacrosse Coach at Division 2, HBCU, Virginia State University located in Petersburg Virginia. Church was introduced as the Inaugural coach in the Fall of 2022.
Coach Church Previously led Monroe Community College to top-ten NJCAA finishes every year from 2018 to 2022, while also being the EDI Region 3 Ambassador. Coach Church would also be notably known in the Rochester area for his time shared with various youth programs such as Pittsford, Victor, Irondequoit, Webster Thomas, Webster Schroeder, Rush Henrietta, Fairport and Greece. Coach Church also worked with Sweetlax lacrosse’s 2024 graduating class and Monster elite women’s lacrosse club 2023 graduating class. While Living in Rochester New York Coach Church started the MuDD Academy Speed and Agility and was Drafted number seven in the NLA Lacrosse Draft.
In 2017, Coach Church was the Head Coach for Team Turkey during the Euro Box Championships while assisting at his alma mater Onondaga Community College when they won the NJCAA National Championship with an undefeated record.
Coach Church was the Head Coach at ASA Community College from 2015-2016 where he sent a student-athlete to play division one lacrosse (Kier Johnson - Hampton University) for the first time in program history. He was also Head Coach of the Brooklyn Crescents youth lacrosse program where he would get his first youth lacrosse introduction.
In 2014, Church was the Offensive Coordinator of Kings College where he had the #2 ranked offense in the respective conference.
Shaun Church got his coaching career started at Eastern University as a Graduate Assistant in 2013 as he helped lead the team to a MACC Conference Championship and four All Americans the programs first ever in history.
Coach Church’s playing career shows that he is both a leader and a winner. Church started his collegiate playing career at Onondaga Community College where he was the captain of the 2009 team that went on to win the NJCAA National Championship.
He went on to Salisbury University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in psychology. As a student-athlete, Church won back-to-back National Championships 2011 and 2012.
Shaun Church was born in Southside Jamaica, Queens, and attended Uniondale and Hicksville High School.
